Aloha Folks!
It's time for the overview of the Tour
JAN-27th
If you are looking for a good breakfast, the Kehei Caffe is where you'll find locals, new visitors and veterans like The Sound Dawgy enjoying the "ono grinds". Another good breakfast place is Stella's for a great Benedict and grey goose bloodymary. Still looking? the Big Wave Cafe, home of the original Stella Blues. Good day to assess all your options, recover from jet lag, work on your tan etc. Safety Note: Never turn your back on the ocean! And watch the sun, we are at the equator and you are pale. It only takes 20/30 minutes by the water and you can be miserable the rest of your trip. We go just up the street for the show at Stella's, again great food and they are like family, so please treat them nice. Stella's is a little too far to walk but a short cab ride if you've been drinking a wee bit. DNB will probably start around 9:45. If you're going to see Jorma, his show must be Pau (done) by 10pm (theater curfew).
JAN-28th
The show tonight at Charley's gives ya lots of time to lounge or explore; i.e. the Iao Valley, upcountry, or if the surf/wind is up the north shore is a great place to see world class action. Paia is a fun town to check out. There are lots of good restaurants and shops. Sheila loves the ahi burger at the Fish Market (1 block from Charley's). Mana Foods is a fantastic health food store if you're looking to stock up on snacks. Remember,Charleys is the smallest public venue on the tour.I expect it to sell out in advance. I will try to start this show as close to 9pm sharp as I can.
JAN-29th
We have an early day Sunday, so don't be late. This show at Spirit of Aloha is planned to be just that, a day of beauty, nurturing yourself and rejuvenation. Trying to include a vegan pupu buffett and brief massage as part of the day. The venue isn't a bar or restaurant, but a small lawn on a cliff overlooking the Maui coastline. There will be no more than 150 other kind folks. This is a spiritual place, the owners request no animal products, no cigarettes, pakalolo ok. Alcohol should not be blatant please. Remember, if we want to return to kind venues, we need to be kind while we are there. Outside backpacks ok. Under 12 free, unfortunately full price for everyone 12 & up. I suggest everyone pack a rain shell or one of those little purse ponchos. You never know when a little shower could happen. Should be a beautiful ending to the week.
JAN-30th
We have plans to go out on a boat Monday morning out of Ma'alea harbor. I'm just finishing negotiations. Dan will put it up as soon as I get it to him. So keep checking back. We will be back in around noon leaving the whole afternoon and evening for more fun.
